Blood Orange Margarita

Summertime Equals Lots of Margaritas

This Blood Orange Margarita gives the classic margarita a run for its money. With Blood Orange San Pellegrino and Grand Marnier, this drink of the week ain’t your typical margarita.

Drink of the week: Blood Orange Margaritas

Break out the margarita glasses, Brio Drink of the Week lovers! We are shaking it up a bit in honor of National Grand Marnier Day with this Blood Orange Margarita recipe. This recipe was originally crafted by our friends at Beard & Bonnet, but we changed up their preparation and serving styles.

I love blood orange juice. There is something about it that I just enjoy more than regular orange juice, and being half Italian I have a torrid love affair with San Pellegrino. I’ve tried different ways of making Blood Orange Margaritas in the past and this is my favorite recipe so far. It doesn’t even need the salt/sugar rim it’s so good! But go ahead your deserve it.

For this recipe, I cracked open a bottle of Grand Marnier® that I had been saving for special occasions. Now I know Grand Marnier® can be a bit expensive. That’s why I typically save it for special nights and use Triple Sec for parties. But Grand Marnier® is one of those Orange Liquors that is worth splurging on a bit.

I’m kind of picky with tequila because I don’t particularly like the taste of it. I hate drinking straight tequila, but Lunazul Blanco Tequila is my current favorite. I use it for all of my margaritas. It also paired really well with the Grand Marnier® and Blood Orange San Pellegrino in this Blood Orange Margarita recipe.
